Too many churros at fiesta last night.
Can't believe this first game.

Spurs were the #1 3 point shooting team in the league this year, and their system is centered on corner 3s on ball movement.
Manu barely plays, the only "old" player getting significant minutes is Parker at 34 yrs old. The next oldest is mills at 29.

Spurs just look disinterested, and Aldridge looks completely lost. Just like the last series.
I don't watch a lot of Spurs ball, because their system tends to work, till it doesn't. They're clearly being out ran right now, by a more run savvy team. Pop is a great coach, so let's see how they adjust during the half. Right now, they're getting ran out of the arena.

That's probably right! I hope the Rockets have settled back down to "this world shooting" in the 2nd half.

I don't know about this Aldridge move. Kinda how I feel about the Al Horford move in Boston. Aldridge isn't the same player that he was in Portland. He was scary in Portland.

The Aldridge deal is not working out. Two full seasons and he just isn't the player or had the impact he was brought in to be/have. The Spurs have to seriously evaluate cutting him loose in the off-season. A very rational argument can be made they are a better team without him. He's just completely fallen off a cliff...

They have to get younger and think of blowing this whole thing up. Yes, "the Spurs way" is a proven model over the last two decades but it's time to cut the dead weight. It's time to respectfully move on from Parker and Ginobili. Green is dead weight at this point.

I wasn't expecting the Spurs to come out this flat, but not completely surprised either. They've already had early exits the previous two postseasons, and it seems to coincide with the decline of Tony Parker.

D'Antonio is pissed!

That last play, zero defensive effort by Harden and Spurs make the 3 pointer (back to back).

Someone like Nerlens Noel would have been a nice cog in that system. Can run the floor, play fierce defense, and average a double double. You're not going to look for him to be your second scorer, but he's that cheaper addition that they could use. Also, Danny Green is no longer the player he was when they were playing the Heat. He's a shell too.

I thought Aldridge would feast here, because he can shoot from 16' all day and stretch the floor a bit, yet what he was doing in Portland didn't transition here. I'm not saying San Antonio is done, but if this series stays the status quo, this team will have some serious evaluating to do in the off season.

He doesn't want them to see a sign of life when they're only 30 + points down. Spurs will have a hard time living this one down. I think Pop's coaching days are waning.
