The Dubs without KD would still mop the floor with the Rockets.

Dub's are looking poised to get back to the finals. With KD playing limited minutes and having very little impact in last night's win, they dismantled Portland. They will continue to monitor and rest him through the remainder of the playoffs and insert him just in time for the Conference Finals and eventually the Finals.

The Rockets step back into reality last night. They were shooting out of their minds on Monday because the Spurs were slow getting into transition. That didn't happen last night. Their only saving grace is the Spurs losing Parker for the perimeter shooting threat.

The Rockets have scored less than 20 points in the series that aren't in the paint or from the arc. If they refuse to get easy and close shots, it's time to go fishing.

I don't remember D'Antoni's squad being this lazy in Phoenix. It wasn't A'mare and four Dan Majerle clones cemented to the arc, unless I recall wrong...

Harden should be posting his guy. Spurs PGs are smallish. Anderson can drag Aldridge away from the paint to space things out. Ariza is the only poor ballhandler, so there is no real excuse for this shying away from puul up jumpers.

I hear the silly reasoning of 33% from deep = 50% from two, but that's irrelevant if you're not shooting ~100 treys and getting enough points to realize that.

The Rockets shot something like 5/37 I believe in a game against OKC. Ugly, but a win because they were a smidge better.

Your basketball strategy is 20 years too late. Harden might be the most effective pick & roll PG in the NBA. He leaves defenses no good option in that play when the Rockets have shooters around the perimeter. Posting up Harden takes away passing lanes and invites help defenders to wreak havoc--something the Rockets can't afford with the Spurs' masterful defense.

Paint points (and free throws) and open 3s are easy shots. Mid range contested 2s are not easy shots. D'Antoni & Harden are a match made in heaven. But the Spurs are dangerous--they have a stifling defense, Leonard's all-of-the-above offense, and a bunch of other weapons. Two great teams & only one can survive.

OP is the typical NBA fan who only comes around to make big proclamations during the playoffs never to be seen again. We should start to see more Clevelanders around Finals time, too.

He's not to never be seen again. He just makes a new username every once in a while. I think he made a couple threads during the regular season. Of course everyone's attendance here ramps up during playoff time.
