Phil Jackson (aka Zen Master) didn't help the Nicks in so many seasons. Maybe instead of trading KP he retires to a zen monastery? Yes he was great when he had players like Jordan or Koby. But...

PJ didn't put the Knicks in shambles, he's been digging out from a decade of bad ownership and meddling.

His logic is fully laid out in the article, if you're worried KP is going to leave you need to get trade value rather than nothing as he walks away in free agency down the road. *shrug*

Just look at the 2015 draft where PJ snagged KP....

The Knicks are where they are because of joke ownership. Phil didn't sink that ship. Jerry West would have a hard time there.

It has been suggested that Phil is also trying to dump Joakim Noah's contract as part of a Porzingis trade. Phil got it right by drafting Porzingis but, outside of that, it is difficult for me to name good moves that he's made.

as a player & coach, he is legendary. As an executive, he is an utter failure.
