Is that how you picked your team? Based on espn ratings?

It's not how I picked mine.

There are two big problems with this team: 1) only James can run point, and 2) most of the players are only good at either offense or defense. Lillard & Irving present the same problems that Irving does for the Cavs now: they need the ball in their hands to be effective, but they aren't as effective as James with the ball in his hands.

Much as he hates to play it, Horford would be a nice look at 5 here with LBJ at 4, Wiggens at 3, Wade at 2, and Irving at 1. This team also doesn't have a lot of floor spacing, so I think it would be vulnerable to good interior defenses.

My favorite 5 man lineup:
James
Wade
Wiggins
Middleton
Horford

This is probably my second favorite team. Three true point guards, plus two players (Butler & Leonard) who can take a lot of ball handling responsibility. Loads of defense & bigs who can rebound, protect the rim, and set screens. The shooting is not great here.

My favorite 5 man lineup:
Paul
Butler
Leonard
Green
Embiid

Hmmm. Kind of an odd collection of players. You could hit on some really effective units, but I think a lot of the combinations would be pretty clunky. Lowry is a solid PG, but there's no one else to handle that duty effectively. When Lowry sits, you're pretty much counting on PG13 & KD to make things happen in ISO. I love Beverly as a defender, but who can be his backcourt mate on this team? Maybe this team could run the offense through Marc Gasol in the high post.

A lot of lineups will be good defensively, which will help to make up for the lack of offensive initiators.

My favorite 5 man lineup:
Lowry
George
Porter
KD
Gasol

This is my favorite team. There will be some struggles on defense, but they should put up a lot of points. Curry & Thomas are both true PGs, and Giannis & Manu add additional ball handling responsibility. Cousins is a big threat as the roll man in with these two point guards. You have ample shooting with Curry, Klay, Booker, Ryan Anderson, and Kristaps. And lots of plus defenders. I'm not a fan of Carmelo's game. I think he fits best at 4, but you have a lot of depth at 4 and not much at the 3.

My favorite 5 man lineup:
Curry
Klay
Giannis
Kristaps
Cousins

This would be a fascinating team to watch. There is one ball, and I don't see how Westbrook & Harden figure out how to share it. Add to that the fact that they are both poor defenders, with Kyle Korver & Zach Randolph (who don't add much defense these days) and you have a crazy starting lineup.

My favorite 5 man lineup:
Harden
Iguodala
Korver
Randolph
Jokic

And my draftees.

I worry most about spacing with Davis & Gobert sharing the floor. I am tempted to start Parker or Simmons at the 4 & Davis at the 5. In any event, we play a lot of defense. I'm not in love with Bledsoe as a playmaker, and I'm concerned with initiating offense when Wall sits. Hayward is capable, and I'm hoping that Simmons looks sharp next year.

My starting lineup is my slight favorite, and my small lineup will be:

Wall
Beal
Hayward
Gallinari
Davis
