When you are leading Golden State by 20 or more, you should not shoot anymore 3's because it allows them to get back in the game.

Simmons learned fast, after subpar performance in his first meeting with Golden State he now delivers 23 points, 12 assists, 8 rebounds, 11-15 shooting!

It really makes no difference what you do vs Golden State, because if you beat them everyone will say its only the regular season (even though their claim to fame is winning 73 regular season games).
Plus you only play them twice, if you are in the East.
So its almost an irrelevant match-up, unless you are expecting to be in the NBA Finals.....

Boston beat them by coming back and playing strong defense. The sixers was trying to win the game in the first half by jumping out to a 24 pt lead and ended up losing. When you are leading the warriors by 24 in the second half you don't have to keep shooting 3's because they are trying to catch up and get back in the game. When you start shooting 3's and they don't go in, that leads to fast break points on the other end. It's unbelievable that no NBA coach tells this to their team once they are leading the warriors by 20 or more points.

And if the Sixers had chosen to attack the rim more through Simmons it would have worked out, because Simmons is shooting 70.6% at the rim, and 60% free-throw shooting, easily enough when your team leads by 24.

Sixers just got punched in the mouth by a champion that woke up for the 3rd.

Every team is trying to get better with each regular season game. Fans may care about narrative, but teams care about growing and about results. The Warriors care a lot more about their 2 championships than their regular season wins record.

For opponents, games against the Warriors serve as a measuring stick and a chance to prove their capability.

Boston did play excellent defense--the 76ers are not an excellent defensive team at this point. The 3rd quarter is where the Sixers got into trouble. They turned the ball over repeatedly, and missed on a lot of shots--most of them 2s. The Warriors defense was locked in, and the 76ers had no answer.

We shouldn't expect to see that again soon.

Anyway, this is Boston's year, so whatever Golden State/Philly do is of no consequence.
Golden State won theirs in 2015 and 2017, and Philly will win after Boston is finished ruling the NBA.
And I'm not a Boston fan, I'm a Charlotte Hornets fan.

It's too early to crown a NBA team before Thanksgiving.
