Harden went beast mode late in the game tonight. He is just running away with the MVP this year. Unbelievable!

“Yanks” got nothing to do with it, since you want to go tribal. There’s a reason the fans across Europe, Asia and South America gravitate towards the Warriors, Cavs and Spurs, not Raptors

Of course there are reasons, very good ones: The Raptors don't get Christmas games. They don't get on Yankee TV for national broadcasts. The tall basketball foreheads on ESPN and TNT ignore them. They get afternoon starts in the playoffs. Despite having the best young bench in the league and a rookie starter, none of their kids were chosen for the Rising Stars game.

Raps and their fans are used to being ignored by the self-designated cognoscenti. But this team will be making it impossible for that to continue.

For your sake, I hope you're right. Because at the end of the day, the treatment of the Raptors by basketball media is a result of the Raptors and the product they've put out. They get the type of coverage that a perennial playoff team that a)lacks a Top 15, possibly Top 20, player; b)has a history of blowing it big time in the playoffs, year after year; c)have a coach who has had some of his worst moments on the national stage....they get the type of coverage normal for that type of team...

Of course, it's looking like this team may be different, and for your sake, I sure hope so, so we can stop this insecurity and inferiority complex...

The Raps deserve coverage comparable to the Thunder, at least. DeRozan is definitely top 15 in the NBA today, maybe top 10. While the Raps have repeatedly been worse in the playoffs than they were in the regular season, it's not like OKC has lit the world on fire in the playoffs, either.

The Raptors don't get Christmas games because they aren't an exciting team and don't have exciting players. If we could rewind the clock and bring back a 25-year old Vince Carter, the Raptors would see more interest than they are seeing now.

DeRozan is not a Top 10 player, and only maybe is he a Top 15. The Thunder have earned more notoriety:

OKC has only missed the playoffs twice in 9 seasons in OKC. The Raptors have missed the playoffs 13/22 seasons in Toronto. The Thunder have been to a Finals this decade (Raps have never been to one); Thunder have been to four conference finals this decade (Raps only once); Thunder have yielded two HOFers from this era---maybe DeRozan is just now blossoming into a potential HoFer? The legacies of both franchises is different and frankly, the Thunder have a greater pedigree, a culture of winning, versus a franchise in Toronto that is 13 years older but outside of this recent run and a handful of good Vince/Bosh years, has a legacy of losing...

Maybe that changes for the Raptors this year, but as it stands, there's no reason to assume this Raptors team will reverse history and go on a postseason tear. I hope they do but they've reached the point of "gotta see it to believe it"...

There's a 7-foot alien scoring machine of a difference between the Thunder's Finals squad and Thunder of today. The Thunder were a 6th seed unceremoniously bounced in the 1st round last year in a gentleman's sweep. The Raptors were a 3rd seed who at least got to the 2nd round before getting squashed by LBJ. The Raps are sitting on the 1 seed in the East now, the Thunder are 5th in the West, and just a game and a half from being out of the playoffs (seriously, 1.5 games separates 5 from 9 in the West, and 10 is only one game further back!).

Its hard to believe Golden State would lack motivation for the regular season, considering Houston will most likely beat Golden State if Game 7 is at Houston....
The regular season is absolutely critical.

All you've made clear is you have not seen this team play.

Ask yourself why that is.
