Mitchell is known for scoring and shooting, right?
I don't consider Mitchell one of the best scorers in the NBA.
And I don't consider Mitchell one of the best shooters in the NBA.

The only thing he does better than Simmons is perimeter shooting and free-throws, and he's only shooting .354 from downtown.
All this shows is that you are less delusional about Mitchell than you are about Simmons.

^ Its impossible to argue against my post, because its all fact based.
The stats show Simmons is one of the best all-round players, defenders, paint scorers and passers (well, the passing is obvious from observation more so).
That's why TheCityTheBridge was forced to stoop so low (and I only saw his post because you quoted it).

Rookie Ben Simmons
15.8 points
8.2 assists
8.1 rebounds
1.7 steals
0.9 blocks
.545 field shooting
.560 free-throw shooting
.000 three-point shooting
33.7 minutes
81 games

Notes:
Simmons shot better from the field than Michael Jordan ever shot in his entire career.
Jordan's best season was .539 field shooting.
And rookie Jordan was .515 field shooting.
Rookie Michael Jordan averaged fewer assists, rebounds and blocks than Simmons.
Rookie Magic Johnson averaged fewer assists, rebounds and blocks than Simmons, and lower field shooting.
Rookie LeBron James averaged fewer assists, rebounds, blocks and steals than Simmons, and lower field shooting (LeBron only shot .417).

It’s easy to have a high shooting percentage when you never shoot jumpers.

Don’t get me wrong. Simmons is one of the most intriguing players we’ve seen in years. His ceiling is “Magic Johnson with elite defense”. He’s certainly not there yet, and he can’t shoot, even a little bit.

^ That shows how weak the NBA is, they can't even defend a guy that can't shoot.
Even the elite teams are useless-
Simmons vs. Houston: 19ppg .531fg
Simmons vs. Golden State: 18ppg .531fg
By coincidence, Simmons shot exactly 17 of 32 vs Houston, and 17 of 32 vs GS.

Simmons actually attempted more shots outside the paint as the season progressed, and his FG% increased-
October: .535
November: .493
December: .508
January: .597
February: .550
March: .571
April: .620

The potential of players who can physically dominate you and get anything they want on the court is always tantalizing. Simmons seems to have a good head on his shoulders and I expect he'll be a damn good player in this league. Whether or not he becomes an all-time great, the Sixers have built an extremely versatile roster and should be a handful for years if they keep the squad together. They are big, they are athletic, they have 3-point shooters. Fultz is a scorer who happens to be on the smallish side for a 2-guard? No problem. Just pair him with Simmons, a pass-first point guard who's 6'10.

Ben Simmons looks like an all-star so far, good for him and that year off seems to have paid off.

I am pleasantly surprised the Sixers are doing this well without Embiid. Yes, Simmons looks great. First the Eagles, then Villanova, and now the Sixers!
