I think Boston is the better "team" (fundamentals, defense) but Cleveland still has the talent to win the East overall. When Heyward comes back next year, look out...

The Cavs have a history of resting LeBron to keep him healthy. When he sits, they usually lose, which is why last year they finished with the #2 seed. Regular season records don’t really matter.

Yeah, depends who is healthy near the end. Not to mention Cleveland is playing down 2 starters (roughly).

As for the question at hand: It's the Cavs until someone beats them when it matters.....in the playoffs. Maybe this year it's the Celtics or even Wizards or Raptors (doubtful of those 2 though) but if you wanted any proof on how irrelevant the regular season has become just look at the 2016-17 Cavs. I guess the Celtics were "better" for 82 games since they won the East, but when the games really mattered, Eastern Conference Final, the Cavs stole the Celtics lunch money.
The Celtics only have 4 guys left from that team though. The Cavs who stole the Celtics lunch money have lost their point guard and received the Celtics point guard.

The Celtics are certainly overachieving this year, after Hayward went down. We'll see how they do in the playoffs.

The team with LeBron, always. Until he's gone from the Cavs they'll dominate the East. Through BBall history there have only been a few players you bet on no matter what, and LeBron is one of them.
