I used to enjoy his honest takes in-game, but he’s become a charicature of himself and it takes away from every broadcast he’s in. He and Marc Jackson spent 10-15 minutes in a close game between the league’s two best teams on a prime time ABC broadcast ignoring the game itself. Instead they went on a long tangent about players not respecting the game, disrespecting referees, and a bunch of nonsense about the All-Star Game. The play-by-play man had to fight to interject a call every time, meanwhile Curry and Irving were putting on a point-guard show for the ages.
If one of the higher-ups dont give him a reality check soon, the best match ups in the league (which ESPN/ABC usually cover) are going to be muted and therefore less exciting to watch.

I'm with you 100%. Jeff Van Gundy has been overplaying his lazy, ham-fisted, old-fashioned, gut-feeling observations for years now.

Shame, I liked him as a coach and initially behind the mic but he's just become a B I T C H.

As long as he takes Mike Breen with him. The entire ABC broadcast makes me miserable. Last Finals I put the TV on mute and listened to the ESPN Radio announcers.

Feel bad for the kids who never got to watch the NBA on NBC back in the 90's. Incredible theme music with great announcing teams such as Marv Albert, Mike Fratello and Matt Goukas.

JVG say stupid stuff sometimes but I find him funny. Corney Chris Webbber is the guy I wish would go away.

Yes Webber is the worst...along with most women that call games.

I've never liked him and I have found him to be more cringe-worthy with each passing year.

I also agree with the poster who said Breen should also go. Couldn't agree more. "Puts it up..Puts it in!" "Bang!". "Ho-oh, what a shot!". Ugh.

I kinda like him. Sure he says some crazy stuff but I guess he thinks the viewers find it entertaining.

But I do hate it when the announcers are so into whatever story they are telling that they just ignore the game. I remember JVG and MJ was telling some stupid story, and they were just going on and on about it. Meanwhile they were completely oblivious that stuff was happening with the game.
