I suppose Phil Knight, Kevin Plank, Adolf Dassler, and Joe Foster have?

If you don't like what Jordan does for the league then I recommend going around and asking the current players to hand you 2/3 their paycheck.

I know Jordan didn't hide from the media during his playing days (although he did refuse to speak to them during the 1993 conference finals) but he never struck me as someone that enjoyed the media attention.
He did his job, and that was winning basketball games and attending press conferences and doing commercials, but he didn't crave the spotlight.
So there is no incentive for him to waste his time with the media now.
He doesn't need the attention, and he doesn't need the money.
And his Jordan Brand doesn't need any help.

I have family that lived in Chicago before and during MJ's success with the Bulls.

Both my uncles were pretty big fish in Chicago back in the 90's, one was a commercial/residential real estate developer and the other was invited to the White House to meet the President as he was picked "Entrepreneur of the Year" for his business successes.

They met Jordan and became friends (in fact one of them convinced him to buy an SL600, the one that MJ got caught speeding in so many times.)

I met him a couple times during those years and he was nice to me, an 18 yr old kid at the time. But I also didn't fawn over him like a lot of people do because I'm not a huge fan of basketball. He's the kind of person that ultimately likes his privacy, but he really can't have any because he's recognized everywhere he goes and no one leaves him alone. After years of that, I'm sure it gets really old to have to keep smiling and being nice for Joe Q Public.

Right because it's Jordan's fault that kids who really can't afford the shoes are buying them and robbing/stealing/killing each other over them...

That's like blaming cars for drunk drivers.
