UMBC and Kansas St grinding it out and going all out! This could go either way for now.

I think that's all she wrote.

UMBC is exhausted.

On to face Kansas.. With the craziness happening.. Never say never.. But.. Think it'd take a heck of a game from Clemson to win that one, and.. they might have just used up their heck of a game.

Things like Cinci blowing that lead stun me, and buzzer beaters from 18 year old kids in front of millions of viewers under the microscope never stop amazing me. But which teams end up hanging around, almost never do any more. Too arbitrary of a tournament and too much parity. Florida State would stun me the most in the Sweet 16 if they did beat Xavier (yes, more than Marshall). Kansas State?? Yeah I guess so too, but of course UMBC did a lot of the leg work for them.

I tell you who is stunned. Apparently there was a Cinci bettor live during the game who bet $2,000 to win $26 if Cinci won. Ouch. If he had used that money to bet on Nevada, he would have won $44,000. Also the win probability for Nevada was less than of that for the Patriots when they were down 28-3 versus the Falcons in the Super Bowl last year.

We'll have to see what happens with Xavier later tonight.

Unreal- Cincinnati = choke city. Xavier blows a double digit lead as well in the final 10 minutes! No way should Florida State be a Sweet 16 team- this is THE surprise to me- more so than Loyola or Nevada or even Kansas St, thanks to UMBC doing most of their dirty work. Xavier and Cinci hate each other- not gonna be much smack between those schools' fans tonight. I despise Xavier, but what awful coaching by Chris Mack down the stretch. Down 1, you trap in the last 15 seconds of the shot clock with plenty enough time to get the ball back. You could see a foul was probably coming, and sure enough, 8 seconds left on the shot clock, you wind up getting called for the foul 30 feet from the basket. Then you sleepwalk your way up the court with 20 seconds remaining and down 3. You wait so long, you ultimately now have to have a 3 instead of trying to extend the game with a 2- and its a set play with a 3 from your worst shooter out there. Awful, awful. Cinci and Xavier trying to out-Cinci the other.

Ironically my initial bracket of the three has the entire Final 4 intact. But everything else of the Sweet 16 is pretty much a lot of red marker.

I'm in Cincy. We are used to being depressed and distressed by all of our local sports teams

Are Cinci and Xavier fans going to actually bicker back and forth the next 8 months about which one choked less? Well I guess Cinci fans can always reflect on the days of the Big Red Machine.
