This is the 5th #11 seed to make the final Four (and the third in eight years, fourth in 13 years). Interestingly, only the 1 thru 4 seeds have an obvious distinction of making more Final Fours. #5 seeds have made it seven times, #6 and #8 seeds have each made it to six. #9 and #10 seeds have fewer Final Four appearances than an 11 seed COMBINED even if Florida State wins tonight. #7 seeds also have fewer appearances with just four. No 12 thru 16 seeds have made the Final Four. Life as an 11 seed this day and age hasn't been too shabby. Remember too, VCU had to win an extra game in 2011.

I thought it was only the 4th time, who I'm I missing?

LSU (1986)
George Mason (2006)
VCU (2011)
Loyola Chicago (2018)

I stand corrected. I keep thinking Syracuse two years ago was an 11. In fact, they were a 10 seed. I kept assuming because of all the controversy surrounding their selection, they at least were one of the last 4 teams in, but that wasn't the case. So yes, it is four- but still more than 9s and 10s combined (if Florida State doesn't win tonight)

I didn't think that three pointer was a wise shot selection for Fla St.

Michigan vs Loyola!

Florida State never did seem to be able to capitalize on their opportunities to score.
