Does LeBron leaving the east make the east more attractive to players because LeBron is no longer an obstacle to the finals?
I mean if you are a player in the stacked western conference and you want a chance at getting to the finals then going to an eastern team would seem like a good move because Lebron is out of the way.
Why would the East be attractive? You're still going to be pummeled by whoever you play in the West. I guess if you only care about getting those 2nd rate eastern conference trophies for winning the conference and nothing more you would care.

Every team but one is going to get pummeled in the West, too. In the East, talented players have a wider opening for showcasing their talents and getting a spot on the All-Star team.

But you have Boston and Philadelphia both young teams that will be as good as any team in the west within a couple years. Overall the west is deeper I agree.
It would have to be. Everyone isn't going to be able to join GS or the Lakers so you gotta play somewhere. Might as well be out East where you can at least make the finals. Teams will always have a punchers chance and GS has issues with injuries a lot, not to mention contracts are coming up. (The exception would be the Knicks who will continue to be bad as long as that owner is owning.) haha
The League has a problem now, officially. They have to fix it and it has to be a priority...
Money talks, once these eastern conference teams start throwing out super max contract money at people like Klay Thompson, Jimmy Butler, and others, im sure they will come East, knowing they have a better chance out there.
Injuries can change everything in a second, just look at the Rockets and Celtics.

They are talking about having a 1-16 playoff seeding where it won't matter which conference teams come from. Could be 10 west teams and 6 east ones. Other idea out there is having a national and american conference. Like MLB and NFL do it. Both with a blend of west and east coast teams.
I think the east / west setup is going to go away soon.
