There’s something about Klay Thompson and Game 6s facing elimination. On Saturday, with the Warriors down 3-2 in the series against the Rockets, Thompson exploded to help erase a 17-point Houston lead and give the Warriors a 29-point win. Klay hit nine threes, tied for the second highest in playoff history. No. 1 all-time? Klay, of course, who hit 11 in that famous Game 6 against the Thunder in 2016.
I've had no stake in the NBA since the Bullets left Baltimore, but ....
The refs swallowed their whistles when the GSW fouled in the 2nd half. James Hardin who I believe led the league in FT attempts got zero attempts in the 2nd half. But hey, Silver, TNT, and ESPN want that 7th game. $$$$$$$$$$$$. Fix was in, gents.
If I had a 16 point lead at Golden State I'd get the ball to James Harden and tell him to drive to the basket on every possession, no more 3-point-attempts.
Slow the game down and get to the free-throw-line.
It's a shame James Harden doesnt have the brains to do that on his own
As we have seen, the Rockets can't be counted out. We all know what happened when we wrote off the Rockets in this series when the Dubs spanked them. Lost two in a row.
Still, expect the Dubs to make it to the finals tomorrow nite!
James Harden: Are we sure, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that James Harden is THAT guy? His playoff resume screams just the opposite. In this series, it has been clear the Rockets cannot compete when the game is solely dependent on Harden’s play. Even as he has shown several signs of his unfathomable talent, he has not been able to take over when it needed the most. Game 6 proved once again his constant iso is daunting for Houston’s offense. When they are playing team ball, they can go toe-to-toe with an all-time Golden State team. In a Game 7, however, it is a game of stars. Unless Chris Paul can redefine magic, play, and be at 100%, the fate of the Rockets will be in the hands of The Beard. That is not promising.
If Houston get another 16 point lead, they'll probably hang on if Chris Paul is there.
Even if Chris Paul doesn't have a dominant performance, he'll keep the turnovers down, so Houston will more likely hang on to a big lead.
Also, don't discount the importance of pressure, because great shooters often fail miserably when the heat is on, as we saw with Curry/Thompson in Game 7 of 2016 NBA Finals.

No they would because Harden is a stupid basketball player
