Houston did everything they could to give the warriors the game the last 1:47 while up 94-89
1. Harden comes down with a 5 pt lead and shoots a three
2. Gordon comes down with his team up 94-91 and shoots a 3
The Rockets only scored 1 pt the rest of the game and escaped with a 95-92 win. I'm sorry but Harden is a stupid basketball player. Why would you shoot a 3 pointer at that moment when you can drain clock and drive to the basket or maybe get to the line?
Too many air balls and overall poor shot selection/ball movement tonight. Also, Kerr not calling a timeout when Klay got trapped on the last play was a real head scratcher.
Because the Warriors have four centers — JaVale McGee, Zaza Pachulia, David West and Damian Jones — whom Kerr would prefer not to use against the perimeter-oriented Rockets, he only played nine players in Game 4. His four All-Stars — Draymond Green (45 minutes), Kevin Durant (43), Klay Thompson (39) and Curry (39) — seldom left the floor for more than a few moments.
Such heavy workloads took their toll. After outscoring Houston 34-17 in the third quarter to turn a seven-point halftime deficit into a 10-point cushion, Golden State seemed to tire.
Its pass-happy system gave way to repeated isolation situations. In those final 12 minutes, the Warriors shot 3-for-18 from the field — 0-for-6 from three-point range — to tie for the franchise’s lowest-scoring fourth quarter in playoff history.
Finally - a game worth commenting on... everything has been blowouts. I didn't even watch Celtics/Cavs #4... just monitored the game on the internet and didn't bother.
Random comments on last night...
Rockets held GSW to 12 4thQ points. That is elite level defense. I have watched most of the Rockets' games this year... they have never played defense like that.
They did what I had been pushing them to do. They use math on offense... use math on defense. Make GSW take two point shots. They did that in the last half on the 4thQ. Curry got hot... so they took away his space outside and allowed him to get inside and make a couple of layups. 2 is better than 3.
Harden posterizing Green... loved it.
There is no way GSW should have gotten 0.5 seconds to make a play. The clock does not stop when the foul is committed. The clock stops when the ref's hand goes up. They did not even begin to raise their hands until after the clock hit 0.0.
Paul was great and willed them to win. I liked that he was giving Green the business.
Curry had his jump shot blocked twice in that game. Don't think I have seen that before.
Golden State need to have everyone on their roster fit/available in order to beat teams like 2016 Cleveland and 2018 Houston.
Very fragile for a so-called all-time great team.
And the thing is Houston may not need to play much defense to win in Houston, because their offense is obviously a lot more free-flowing with the crowd driving them.
But its good to know they can.
We already knew Paul was a defensive wizard, but Harden playing d is a game-changer because Golden State would not have factored that into their calculations.
The Santa Fe school district announced that Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta, a fellow native of Galveston County, has extended invitations to the entire Santa Fe High School senior class to attend Game 5 at no cost. Food and transportation will be provided for the students who attend.
The Santa Fe High School choir has been asked to sing the national anthem before the game, according to sources, who said invitations also have been extended to school administrators, county officials and first responders.
The Rockets intend to play a video honoring the Santa Fe High School victims and survivors on the large screens over the Toyota Center court before the game and also anticipate coordinating a pregame on-court tribute, sources said. Those plans are tentative, pending league approval and consultation with school officials.

The league would need to approve some of the on court activity and presentations.
Definitely, Houston at some points seemed lost, but when their backs were against the wall, they became so aggressive on both ends of the floor while the Dubs became complacent (as usual) and were out hustled and out muscled.

Golden State's shot selection in the last few minutes seemed awful. I guess one must give great credit to Houston's defense for that.
