Just as I figured: a useless bunch of suggestions. The whole notion of what "one and dones" does and doesn't do to the game, continues to be misconstrued.

One and done is an NBA thing. The NCAA has no control over that policy. Why they bother to address that makes as much sense as anything that joke of an association does I suppose. Nothing will be done.

Condoleezza Rice is the commissioner of college basketball, wth!?!?

NCAA Basketball and Football are a billion dollar industry. It brings so much $$ in terms of endorsements, TV deals, fan merchandise, ticket sales, etc. These colleges capitalize on these young players to bring those $$. You can't expect these guys to train full-time, attend courses, do coursework, travel, play basketball, etc. They should decide to have the NCAA basketball and football season when college is not in session. (May to September). This way the college "amateur" athletes can go to school without distractions.

Remember, there are college coaches that sign multi-million dollar contracts with colleges. (think about that for a sec!)

I believe the new commissioner was debating on removing it. But there might be collision between the NCAA and NBA on the one and done rule. The NCAA is a good feeder to the NBA. The one and done rule allows the NCAA to capitalize on that "star" player for at least 1 year. NCAA needs to make their $$$, baby!

Scholarship penalities or other sanctions should follow the dirty coaches as they bounce about the league instead of just sticking to the school.

Very good point. It is ridiculous. At the very least, if the NCAA can't prevent the coaches from simply leaving the mess to others- something I think in part they won't confront because of the ruling regarding the Jerry Tarkanian lawsuit years ago after leaving Fresno St- they should impose the sanctions on the school several years into the future. Leave the current players out of the fray. Any potential recruit would be privy t any sort of restrictions the program faced while he was enrolled at the school. Of course you probably wind up with a pretty lousy team without coaches having to face the music. But at least that's more fair than the current status quo.

Yeah but ultimately it's just one giant sh*t show. Dirty schools in dirty states know how to hide their dirty laundry at least long enough. Hey....looking at you FAB5 Michigan.

Who cares I guess. Which is why I've given up on so many sports.
