As I look at it, who is going to be better than LeBron and the Lakers in the west?

Golden State for sure, Houston will most likely be better, but not 100% sure.
OKC IMO will be the Lakers competition for the third best team in the west IMO.

I see them exiting the playoffs in the second round, perhaps the third round, but they wont make the NBA Finals, at least not this season.

I'm glad you guys are excited and the Lakers are finally on the right track but as much as I like Lebron, he has to add 12 wins to a young team in a much more competitive schedule environment.

Not only that, remember that Bosh, Lebron and Wade took time to gel starting out something like 18-18. Lakers have zero margin for error getting to 47 games.

I'm reading a lot of excitement and not much rational explanation.

What happens when the Lakers young talent makes errors and mistakes, will Lebron throw his usual tantrum and start throwing players or the coach under the bus.

Here is a story I found on Svi Mykhailiuk to point out what I saw in the Summer League.

It's a professional league. The young players that have stuck with him have prospered, the others not so much. (As long as they kept themselves away from OJ's daughter....lol)

If you're not getting it done, improving, hustling on defense etc. pretty much tell me which of the top 200 or so if not 1000 all time players isn't going to have a problem with that?

The Laker young players have some potential and some duds in the mix. That's not going to be on Lebron.

Good distance shooters with length will have a long NBA career. Mentioning Klay Thompson however in the article is laughable until I see this guy make an all-nba defensive team as there are after all....2 ends to a court.

I think the Lakers will win 50 games this year. Chemistry will be a problem for this team. You need some type of cohesive unit, either the starting 5, or the face of the franchise (Lebron) and the head coach, or a combination of the two. I think they will play and discover who they want to be. They don't have a personality, if you will. This will cause them to lose some close games at the same time, it will allow the elite teams to pull away from them and close the 4th quarters.

I would be surprised if the Lakers don't make the playoffs. They added LeBron to a team that was at least as good as the Cavs minus LeBron. The West is more stacked than the East but not THAT stacked. I think they'll win at least 45 games and probably in the neighborhood of 50. That should put them somewhere in the 5th-7th seed.

So, 82 games...let's assume they're a 49 win team once they start to gel but that takes half the season but before that they win 50% of their games as they figure out rotations etc.

If that happens, they end up with 45 wins and likely miss the playoffs.

That's where I'm completely ??????????

Maybe they gel right away?
Maybe by mid-season Lebrons booted the coach and gotten 2 young players traded off?
Something in-between?

Thank god though that this happened because it's INTERESTING, unlike the rest of the NBA regular season lately.

This is LeBrons 16th season. He has played 1396 games including the Playoffs and All-Star. He has been blessed with remarkable health and takes great care of himself. The Lakers have a huge advantage being in a city where many players long to play. Makes the GMs job much easier as well.
