I wouldn't count myself as a LeBron fan (the political stuff alone is a turn off). One thing I have to admit is that if anyone can cheat (not beat) father time it is LeBron. He seems to be heavily into physiology--remember when he went on the off-season diet to shed 15 lbs. or whatever it was. He played 82 games last year and still great in the playoffs. I was surprised at how much quickness he has at age 33 and at his size.
He played 82 games but his defense was non-existent.
I rate it as the worst season of his career.
The Lakers have some decent defenders so they'll probably play better defense than the Cavs even if LeBron is slack.
If he's still trying to collect big stats then he'll probably not play defense.
I voted 40-45 but felt something around mid-40's seems reasonable.
6th seed, 1st round exit.
The BIG question will be how many of the young pups survive Lebron and bloom....or get traded out of town like when he came back to Cleveland and KI bloomed while Waiters now bounces around the league.
We know what Lebron will bring, it's up to the youngsters.

We had this same conversation around Kobe citing all of the other past greats and how they aged.
Generally you start to see the decline in those guys around 34 and it can be abrupt especially with the spectre of injury and from there it can be a fast and slippery slope.
He's one of the greats so he'll adapt his game, possibly reduce minutes etc. so I suspect he'll be very functional for a long time unless he gets a *bad* injury.

It seems obvious, but Ball is the one to watch. Lebron might lose patience waiting for him to develop (not to mention Lavar's sideline commentary) while Rondo's 20+ assists per night are ready and waiting. Magic is no Dan Gilbert though, and Lebron's wishes won't carry the same sway as they did in Cleveland.

Well Lebron is CLEARLY taking on a project and heading towards other life foci. Because this team, even if things come together is 3-4 years from being a threat unless they land some massive free agents next year.
As such, I would think he'd be a little more patient with management but I agree...not with the players.
If Ball isn't progressing and working his arse off....he'll be out of there and his NBA star will be in decline.
So the consensus here seems to be 45-55 wins, which would mean the Lakers probably make the playoffs. If so, then w/ LBJ on your team, anything can happen. If he can take Love, Smith, Hill, and Thompson to the finals, who knows what he could do with this group.

Love is better than every Laker, and the West is better than the East. There's a real chance that LBJ draws the Warriors in round 1.
If Lebron makes the finals my hat is off to him. The Warriors are pretty much a lock for the western finals so the Lakers have to go through them at some point. And they may also have to go through the Rockets. Thunder, Jazz or Pelicans may also be difficult outs for them....all 3 probably as good or better than the Pacers who went 7 games.
