He made some fancy plays but I don't think he was that good. Averaged less than 6 assists per game and more than 2 turnovers per game for his career. Not good for a point guard.

I remember him for a certain racial outburst he directed towards a fan, and how quickly it was swept under the rug.

VOICES FROM THE YOUTH: Jason Williams needs to be held accountable

Quote:
On February 28, 2001, an Asian American Golden State Warriors’ fan named Michael Ching shouted at Jason (who was playing for the Sacramento Kings) to “get used to sitting on the bench.” However, the third-year NBA player lashed back with immensely inappropriate and racist comments, including, “I’ll shoot all you Asian mother——-. Do you remember the Vietnam War? I’ll shoot all ya’ll like that.” That is after asking Ching if he was a “***” and calling him a “slant eyed mother——.”
Imagine if he had something just as vile towards other races, if you know what I mean. The outrage would have been far greater.

I'm a somewhat avid NBA fan, but I don't even recall hearing about that. I do recall when Bonzi Wells of the Portland Trail Blazers made some racially-tinged comments (anti-white IIRC) and it was barely covered in the sports press. The NBA can sweep things under the rug when they want to. I tried to find a report of it via google, but came up empty. It did happen, though.
