From Boston, I am a big Celtics fan, and very much enjoyed the game last night. However, I am still waiting for KG to prove himself late in a game. I know he'll consistently score 25+ points, but he's yet to take over a game at an important time a la Kobe, Lebron, Duncan, etc.

Is this an unrealistic expectation from KG? Is his game just not good enough for this? I think it may be the downfall of the celts. We cant rely on games like last nights from Ray or Perk or even Pierce. I think KG needs to step up and play like a champion.

KG scored 10 points in the 4th quarter last night - including 2 clutch free throws to ice it. Yes, he looks to pass more than he probably should. This led to a couple of turnovers in the 4th quarter. He has been a beast of defender all year and without him the Celtics probably lose in the 1st round - if they make the playoffs at all.

I don't think you can expect someone - especially a hall of fame caliber player like KG - to change his game. If scoring 33 points in a huge game 5 win (not too mention averaging 21.3 pts and 10.0 rbds in the playoffs) and playing stellar defense isn't playing like a champion, then I don't know what is.

Doesn't matter. Lakers will handle them anyways.

Is losing by 10 points "handling?"

Looks like the Celtics are still being "handled"...

Celtics fan here. I'm not too concerned about KG's play. The great thing about the Celtics is their depth. If KG can't win the game for them, then Pierce, Allen, Perkins, or even Powe will do it. Anyway, it's not like KG is playing bad, he's just not playing at his usual superstar level. I don't think offense is a problem for the Celtics; I'm much more concerned about their ability to play good defense in LA.

Although Pierce has had a few break out performances, KG has been the only consistant player in almost every game of the big 3. KG has never been the "goto" in the forth, and he shouldn't start now when you have all stars such as Pierce and Allen.
