Regarding your comment.....wow, good job! I must say your copy, paste and editing skills are quite amazing.

Why don't you try some big boy sites.....like NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NCAA, Fantasy Sports News - CBSSports.com Live Scores, Stats, Schedules or espn.com.....it's in black and white sweetie.....phoenix has it all.....san antonio? not so much. And now with Shaq we will be that much better.....wana talk defense??? SA plays small ball......if the suns suck so bad at defense explain the spurs 7 turnovers in the first quarter of game 2......five of them by Duncan. They were outscored 12-1 in the final 2 mins.....face it....the spurs were blown away by our swarming defense...proven by Duncan's fumble after fumble....SA likes to fight more than they like to play.....they're dirty.....that's mostly where they catch thier break

i'm not saying the spurs are a bad team, they obviously are not....but to lable the suns a bad defensive team is plain ludicris.......
You asked me what Duncan had over Nash, I provided the info and you completely changed the subject. Focusing in on one quarter in an embarrassing first round playoff crushing is the best you could come back with? <weak sauce>

What was really cool about that playoff series is how Parker outscored Nash 30-16ppg, out shot 53-46% and yes....even out assisted Nash. MVP! MVP! MVP!

P.S. Pheonix was a MUCH better defensive team with Marion on it. I think that you haven't yet realized how much his departure exposed thier perimeter defense and soft white canadian underbelly.

No..

Kobe is not even close to MJ...
He doesn't have the killer instinct Jordan had.
Jordan won the big games on his own, Kobe cant.

Heres my two scents:

Kobe is a good player, maybe close to great but certainly not anywhere near Jordans level.
Lets not forget Jordan retired twice. The first time sitting out almost two years at the height of the Chicago Bulls dynasty. Had he not retired, we might be talking eight straight championships.

Jordan came into the leaque averaging 35 pts per game. His second year he had a foot injury. Take three years off of overall scoring. Kobe came into the league right out of highschool. When it is all said and done Kobe will have about seven to nine more seasons in the NBA, and I am willing to bet Michael still will have more championships and accomplishments. He would have won the mvp every year but they lobbied for others. He was always up there either leading the lead or next to in steals. He was a great defender. Today these stars don't know how to defend. Kobe will step up from time to time when there is a challenge, but he doesn't play defense every game. Michael's overall average would be better if it wasn't for his last year playing with bad knees at 40.

Michael never lost a final. Kobe has stumbled twice now. Once with Shag, Karl malone and Peyton on the team. The other was last year. This alone separates them. Mike didn't know what losing in the finals was like. Once he got there he owned it. How many players can say that? Kobe had mike to model after. Mike had himself. Most of Kobes moves are Mikeish. Mike was the original--thats a fact. .

The last very important point I will make is that the league is so different today prepared to when Mike played. The game was more physical back then, much more physical. Today a player just needs to touch you and your going to the line. Had Mike played in this era, I strongly believe he would be averaging 40 pts a game.

Well, basketball is a team game above all else, so I don't use the number of championships to gauge how great an individual player is. Especially comparing players from two different teams from two different eras.

This is not the same as comparing two dunk artists. By your logic, Jordan was a greater dunk artist than say Vince Carter because MJ accomplished more with his team. I thought in the slam dunk contests that they each participated in, Vince had the better, more creative dunks. Vince Carter a better dunker than Jordan IMO.

About Kobe, I think the fact that he's being compared to MJ despite not being surrounded by as great a team that Jordan was surrounded with, speaks volumes about Kobe. I respect Kobe as a great basketball player in his own right and putting myself in his shoes, I certainly wouldn't want my hard work to always be confronted with comparisons to Jordan. Kobe is just trying to define Kobe, not Jordan II.

I understand your points however. I'm not knocking MJ as a great player, just recognizing Kobe's right to be himself independent of Jordan.

Couldn't agree more...and Jordan NEVER had a Shaq or even a Shack for that matter.
