You call that good business? Keep dreaming. That league has been spiraling downward ever since Jordan retired, and with assanine moves like this, that spiral seems to know no end.
If you want to go back to 2001, the NBA has lost 2 of it's 3 NBA franchises (that it had at the time) in the Pacific NW. The Griz should have never left Vancouver.
BRING BACK the BRAVES ALL HAIL the BUFFALO BRAVES. they did better as the BRAVES than the CLIPPERS
Bah - they're no Rochester Royals!
as for the seattle sloppy seconds - i hope clay burns forever
they won't be able to keep the young talent together - mainly because it's friggin OKC - if you want to see the future of that franchise, just look a little bit to the east and stop at memphis

The Rochester Royals became the Kansas City Roy...oh wait can't use that name...and thus the KC Kings were born. (Then Sacramento)
yep - they still hang the rochester royals NBA championship banner in the rochester stadium (not sure what it's called now -was the war memorial when I was living up in that area)

Right on. Like I said earlier about Memphis even getting the Grizzles. Vancouver has about 2.2 to 2.5 million within an hour drive. Memphis has about 1.4 max.

The Grizzlies left Vancouver because of low attendance and losing large sums of money. The only shame about the Grizzlies moving was that the Vancouver market didn't get a fair opportunity to show what they could do given a long term opportunity.
Memphis getting an NBA team was inevitable; the Grizzlies and Hornets both tried moving there, they would have received an expansion team had neither team moved there.

In fairness though, you need to consider what other options are competing for your ticket money. Some places like OKC just don't have other *distractions* and could build a loyal passionate following...not saying they will....but the topic is a little grey.
As an example, Omaha has one of the best Zoos in the world, considered #2 in the country behind San Diego. They get huge private donations and draw large crowds etc.

Losing $, yes, but that was primarily due to the value of the Canadian dollar in 1999 to 2001.
Attendance however? It's actually a little bit worse in Memphis.
(or not for sure better).
