Won't get support from this Tulsan, and many others I know. Especially after that horrible looking logo was unveiled today. Yeesh!
I sense some jealousy from up the turnpike, big shocker there...So what, the team got named "Oklahoma City"? Oklahoma City is the bigger city anyway, it should be expected. Did anyone here really expect the name to be "Oklahoma..."?
If that's not your reason for not supporting the team than I apologize, that just seems to be a common theme these days.

Nope, not my main reason anyway. I lived in Houston for three years and basketball doesn't appeal to me.
OKC doesn't appeal to me either. And there's very little jealousy here. We have our own scene, you guys have yours. We're gonna be busy with concerts at our new arena for the rest of the year.
Here is what some thought it would like. This one's better in my opinoin.
Wow, OK City Thunder is the best they came up with- a sad for basketball.....
My question for Oklahoma City Thunder fans is how do you guys expect to get marque players other than through the draft. What makes a free agent want to leave a town such as Miami or New York and come to a town like Oklahoma City? What does OKC have that every other city USA doesn't have?

What doesn't OKC have that places like Charlotte and San Antonio do? There was talk of bringing a team to Louisville once. What makes OKC much different from Louisville; or even Memphis or Sacremento?

Are you answering my question with a question I mean basically I want to know what is OKC known for? If I were a NBA player how would OKC Thunder be able to sell their town to me? OKC probably is very much like those other cities you mentioned, but maybe I want to be close to other cities Cincy, Indy, Nashville, Lexington (insert: Louisville)....Maybe I'm a fan of the riverwalk and bbq( insert: memphis)....or maybe I want to be close to the smokey mountains and the ocean (insert: Charlotte). So I'll ask my question again because of OKC location what can it offer to a marque player?

If i am not mistaken, OKC has something similar to Memphis and San Antonio's riverwalk in bricktown. Even though BBQ did not originate in OKC, you can find it there. If you are a pro athlete, making the trek from OKC to say, the rockies, is not a big deal. Did you know that a many pro athletes do not live in the cities they play in? The fact that the team is located in OKC is not going to keep players out. Sure, places like NYC and Miami have more to offer, but that does not mean they will by default attract top talent. When is the last time the Knicks made the playoffs anyway? Hmm, I think the Spurs, Grizzlies and Pacers all made the playoffs more recently. I would also be willing to bet that many free agents would love to sign in San Antonio rather than NYC right now, no matter how unappealing the city itself may or may not be to a player.
True, OKC is isolated from other major cities, and yes, it is not a draw like NYC. However, that does not make them much different from the Sacrementos and San Antonios of the NBA world. Trust me, if Kevin Durant blossoms into a great player, OKC will have no problem attracting talent.
what were the other choices the team could've been called? I think Barrons was one, what were the others? Thunder sounds too much like a minor-league name IMO, Wranglers or Drillers would have been better. And the logo looks like a 6th grader's artwork. Surely they could have been more creative.
(I still think the Hornets should have moved permanetly to OKC and Seattle gets to keep the Sonics, oh well though.)
Sucks for the logo and colors....... But still, Seattle's going to get get a team back anyway, if think so or not.
But I still can't get over the colors. I mean, dude, blue yellow and orange? WHY?????? Are they triyn to get me to eat something, because it reminds me of Wonder Bread. Or better yet, it reminds me of Sonic (which is based in Oklahoma City)......
Wait a minute, that's it! Oklahoma City is trying to be the Sonics, without really being THE Sonics. That's genius !!!
