Samardo Samuels, a native of Jamaica and starting center for the Louisville Cardinals, was rated by many recruiting services as the #1 overall HS player and was the US Today player of the year.

Will he win Freshman of the year, or will some of the other top freshman (listed below) win it? From what I've seen on YouTube Tyreke Evans is also a beast

List from recruiting guru John Gasaway

1. Samuardo Samuels, center, Louisville

2. B.J. Mullens, center, Ohio State

3. Jrue Holliday, guard, UCLA

4. Tyreke Evans, guard, Memphis

5. Demar DeRozan, forward, USC

6. Scotty Hopson, forward, Tennessee

7. Greg Monroe, forward, Georgetown

8. Jamychal Green, forward, Alabama

9. Tyler Zeller, forward, North Carolina (out for season - wrist)

10. Al-Farouq Aminu, forward, Wake Forest

If the question is kid from Louisville versus the field for freshman of the year; I'll take the field and wait until late January before starting speculation.

Some NBA scouts think King Samuels height may keep him in college 2-3 yrs - I hope their right! Right now he's not in the TOp 10 on NBAdraft.com, although Earl Clark is
