The only reason I would root for the Lakers this season is because of Josh Powell( Former NCSU star), other than that, please beat them early.

Nice way to start off the series, but it's still only game 1.

Interesting start to the playoffs this season.
There's a girl I know on campus that says the Bulls cheated.
So let the fun begin.

The Rockets definitely showed up. Maybe they'll actually win a playoff series
Portland has shot horribly throughout this game and the Rockets (Yao especially) have been bringing it down on the boards. They came out shooting not as well in the third quarter but have pulled ahead again by >20. Yao's sitting, Mutombo's playing and Ron Artest/Luis Scola are getting in on the scoring.
This is big, because the Rockets have been hard to beat at Toyota Center this year.

I know I put cleveland in the confrence finals but I wouldn't be surprised if if goes to seven against detroit

I thought Detroit had a chance but.....No

I don't know man, there's always that one game that turns into such a blow-out and the next game becomes totally different. Portland's a new team in these playoffs, and the first game there's always those jitters. However, if they play the way they did last night, I look for Houston to win.

lol, I knew someone would ask.
I used to be a Hornet fan back in the day, well they left and I took a liking to the Mavs, I have a couple of older NBA video games and I used to own my friends playing Dirk, Nash, Finley, etc. Dirk became one of my faves early on in his career as well. Got real interested in the '06 series against the Spurs that year and was impressed by the way they won. Did root for them in the finals, but of course my Hockey team was my main focus that year.
Plus for what it's worth, my dad moved out to the Dallas area in '07 and I got a Dirk jersey from him too. Can't root for the Bobcats, Bob Johnson is a terrible and greedy owner who really does nothing for the team.
