Okay, I'm going to pull a Schmoe Williams and guarantee a Lakers/Magic Finals. Boy, does Moe look sad, LOL. Lebron's team is very tough, his teammates in the stripes are unreal competitors out there. On the real, Cleveland will throw everything and anything at Orlando but that Schmoe Williams looked defeated when they interviewed him in the locker room, so he's probably probably already thinking about what kind of bait and lure to use.
LOL...first off, I'll take my lumps like a man, because I'm originally from (wait for it) Cleveland!!
Now, that that's done, my take on the Eastern Finals...LeBron James is, in my opinion, one of the 3 to 5 best players in the NBA, if not the world---however, all that talent means Jack-diddly if he never wins a title...I'm not a big fan of That Guy On The Lakers, but I'll give him this, he DOES have 3 rings, and that will be part of his legacy when he hangs 'em up...
When it all comes down to gut-check time, 66 wins, NBA MVP, and Coach Of The Year mean nothing if you get your hat handed to you night after night by a hungrier Orlando Magic team...I mean, the Cavs are 1 game away from being Denver'ed (what's that you ask? Being Denver'ed means you have a gaudy record like the 94 SuperSonics, but get sent packing by a team no one thought had a chance---the 41-41 1994 Nuggets)
I think it'll go 6...that is, the Cavs will pull one out at home to make it 3-2, but then the series shifts back to Orlando where, I'm afraid, the Magic will make the Cavs disappear...
And speaking of the Nuggets, the Lakers are learning that they ain't no cupcakes, and the Lakers finesse-itude is showing...in a way, these '09 Lakers are just like the Cavs---everybody sit back and let Kobe play Superman in the 4th quarter, but even Superman can't save them EVERY night...it would serve the NBA and the fawning media right if they don't get their marquee 'LeBron vs Kobe' matchup, and I'd be quite happy to watch a Denver-Orlando NBA Final...simply to be able to watch 2 young, hungry, explosively athletic teams go at it...
Note to Mo Williams: guarantees absolutely suck cat tinkle unless you back them up with a win---and you DON'T make said guarantee in the enemy's home arena...the Cavs need to do a MAJOR retool in the offseason, and get more quality folk as LeBron's supporting cast
Some names I'd like to see as Cavs
Tayshaun Prince...Tracy McGrady...Amare Stoudemire...heck, even Shaq might be able to make one more good run with a guy like LeBron at his side
Lebron cant miss free throws in the 2nd half and expect to be called GREAT! They are called FREE throws for a reason.
PS - To everyone who is going to makes excuses and say Lebron needs more help.....why werent you crying for more help when he was leading them to the best regualr season record in basketball ????? hmmmmm
