Great move in my opinion. Shaq last year proved he still has some gas left in the tank, and all the Cavs gave up was Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovich, a 2nd round pick, and a little cash. Not to mention even if this doesn't work out for the Cavs, Shaqs making 20 million this upcoming year, so that would be alot money off the Cavs salary cap, and would put them in position to get one of the big name free agents in 2010. Also I don't think the Cavs are done yet. I think they will probably try and make a move to get a young athletic shooting guard, don't really know whos available though. If that happens Delonte West and Big Z could come off the bench. JJ Hickson and Darnell Jackson will probably get alot more minutes. We'll have to wait and see whether or not they sign Anderson Variejo. I don't think they should resign him.

I don't think they should resign AV when they have two much more athletic PFs off their bench already in JJ Hickson and Darnell Jackson. They need a true SG, Delonte could come off the bench then. I don't know what they'll do with their pick tonight, that will be very interesting to see.

Not for what he's reportedly desiring anyways - 4 yr./$32 million. He's a good role player and if he'll take $4-5 million/year, then I'd say do it, but not for $8 million/year!

On the plus side, he does provide the space for the Cavs shooters to operate with. So as I implied, he's best when Lebron is getting a spell on the bench.

Well said.
Shaq, used correctly can be a strong addition to that squad just playing 20minutes a night. They gave up nothing to get him and consider he is playing the role of a 6th-7th man and Cleveland now has arguably the best 6/7 in the league.

Yeah if I was the Cavs I wouldn't resign him, unless they sign him and use him as trade bait.

Good post. Hopefully the Cavs can get a another big (Villanueva? Rasheed Wallace?) and a taller swingman since their guards are short. I would like to see Anderson back because they need a big man who can defend the transition game, but I would give him up if it means getting a solid scorer at the power forward position.

I'm not that happy with Teague. I really wanted us to do a deal with the T-Wolves (they can't keep both Rubio and Flynn). I hope the Hawks can get one of them from MN.
