The problem is that besides Lebron the Cavs didn't have another guy who could really score in the paint, Shaq will provide that. Your also forgetting that they got Anthony Parker and may get Jamario Moon both who are good defenders and both shoot a decent percent from three range. This will give the Cavs the option of switching Delonte West to the point guard position giving MO Williams more rest during games. Will also allow LBJ to play the power forward position more which he can easily do. Z, AV, and Delonte West who were all starters last year could in turn become bench players thus making the Cavs bench much better than it was last year.
Agree. Getting Parker and Moon will take them to another level. I thought they would stand pat with the Shaq acquisition which was not enough.
Please, Cavs are not to be taken seriously. The major contenders are 4 teams, Lakers/Spurs in the West and Boston/Orlando in the East. Cavs were a one man team the whole season and it wasn't enough to win a championship, now they have to learn to play with chemistry as a team instead of just running iso with Lebron. They'll be good eventually, but not this year.

They'll be good eventually... they had the best record in the NBA last season AND upgraded their team. You can be a hater, but at least be realistic. No one on here put them as the team to beat, but you're drinking something if you don't think they contend in the East. In fact, they match up perfectly with Boston. I'm not sold that Rasheed Wallace makes Boston better than Cleveland in a 7-game series. In fact, I'm sure it won't so you might want to do some recalculating.
Secondly, if Cleveland has chemistry issues now that they acquired Shaq, then you're forgetting about the bad/awful chemistry they had to play with all year with Ben Wallace.
Third, why doesn't Orlando have these same chemistry issues? Afterall, they just let go of their best ball-handler who ran plays from the SF position, their starting SG who played tremendous defense as well as their backup/starting capable PG and brought back a guy I'll simply term 'Vinelderly.' But they're not a worry in your mind?
San Antonio will crush all opponents in the West and defeat Boston in the 2010 Finals. Bank on it.
You might be right IF their big 4 stay healthy, and that's asking a lot of the oft-injured Ginobli & Parker, and an aging Tim Duncan. Although, don't think they'll play Boston in the Finals, and the Lakers are still a better team than them if they re-sign Odom, no way they 'crush' them, beat them in a best of seven, possibly.

If the Spurs add Raja Bell and stay healthy, they will clearly be the team to beat! Orlando will be the other team, but i'm more in doubt with the East since Orlando, Celts, and Cavs have improved considerably with free agent signings. So who knows what will happen in the East. It will be a dogfight.
The Spurs are STILL old despite whatever changes they make.
Yeah? And how does this prevent them from absolutely crushing the Rockets during this coming season? The Houston Rockets are a crippled, broken down, pathetic bunch of wannabe contenders. If they are your team I pity you.
