Agreed - maybe not unanimous, but without question imo.

I too, see AI, as a HOFer. Just not on the first ballot. Well, it depends on the ballot, if it is "weak", then I think he may sneek in. He is a 10x All-Star, 4 Time Scoring Champion, 2x All-Star MVP, NBA ROY ( 1997), NBA MVP ( 2001), etc.

AI, just had the rotten luck of playing in the wrong era, and bad teams. Just like Miller, Barkley, Ewing, etc, had to deal with Jordan, AI, had to deal with the era of Shaq and Kobe, and the big men running the West.

YouTube - Allen Iverson Crosses Michael Jordan

If he does retire. Thanks AI for memories like that!
I can see why the NBA banned it. He was carrying the ball each time. I don't think that crap was ever legal in the game of basketball.

Iverson is not a well-liked player, nor did he ever try to be.

Well I agree he probably will I just do not think he is. Being scoring champion does not mean much if you take 40 shots a game nor does it mean you are one of the best players. He had a decent team in Philly he had the Coach of the Year 6th man of the year and Defensive player of the year on his team. He had a really good defensive team around him to rebound all the bad shots he took. The year the Sixers went to the Finals the East did not have many good teams in it.

If A.I. is not that great in HOF material in your eyes, then who is? I know the HOF is a big time thing...and A.I. is a big time player. As for now, i hope he doesn't retire, he can go to Charlotte (hopefully not) and i still think cleveland could use another consistent scoring threat.
