That's a good list but Kobe is definitely Number 1 in the NBA. Also Yao is fading with injuries. Garnett should be higher on the list but he is also injured too much lately.

Here's my list of the top 15:
1. Kobe Bryant
2. Lebron James
3. Dwight Howard
4. Dirk Naviski
5. Wade
6. Duncan
7. Chris Paul
8. Carmelo Anthony
9. Kevin Garnett
10. Brandon Roy
11. Paul Pierce
12. Chris Bosh
13. Deron Williams
14. Shaq
15. Paul Gasol

Agree w/you on 1-3, would probably put Chris Paul at #4, Melo at #5, Dirk at #6, Howard at #7, Duncan #8. I'd probably add Nash in there somewhere between 9-13 and would put Bosh, Williams, Garnett & Roy above Yao, really once you get below Duncan it's up for debate, some would still say Shaq still belongs on the top 15, others would probably add Pau Gasol to that list and probably Amare Stoudamire as well as Joe Johnson belongs in that conversation as well.

Sorry, 13-15 don't belong on this list. You think any one of them are better than Amar'e Stoudemire, who was neglected on all of these lists? Brandon Roy, Monta Ellis, and Pau Gasol are also better than all three of them, and Rajon Rondo? Kid can't shoot - Nash may be old, but he's certainly ahead of Rondo if we're talking PG play.

Will agree with most of the posters, though. Lebron is THE best player in the NBA.

How can you say that? Kobe is so much more superior than Lebron.

I'll admit, I'm bias being a Cavalier fan that Lebron is the best player (as I would imagine you have a little bias being in the LA area towards Kobe), but trying to look at it subjectively, Lebron is a hybrid of Oscar Robertson, Magic & MJ all rolled into one - 3 of the greatest players ever; Kobe is essentially MJ light, not taking anything away from him, he is a tremendous player, but all-around, I see Lebron as a better player. I realize Kobe has the rings, but you have to admit that he has had much better talent surrounding him throughout his career - he had Shaq in his prime and last year he had Gasol & Odom who are better than anyone Lebron has ever had until he got Shaq this year (and even at that, on tail-end of his career) and having Boozer play alongside him his first season (even then, Carlos wasn't the player he is now). Other than that, he's had mostly role players surrounding him, and just in the past couple of seasons, a couple of higher-quality players like Mo Williams.

There isn't anyone that really agrees with this statement. Anyone I've ever seen say that Kobe is better than Lebron admits its rather marginal/pretty close call. "So much more superior?" Now, I'm going to wonder if you're a Lakers homer.

Kobe's a better shooter overall than Lebron. It used to be, however, that Kobe was heads and shoulders the better shooter over Lebron but that's no longer true.

The fact is that Lebron is one of the BEST passers in the NBA, has along with Nash, the best court-vision in the NBA, a tremendous decision-maker, is the BEST defensive player in the NBA, and the guy is a PG/SG/SF/PF, rebounds tremendously, takes it to the hole, posts people up and drives to the rim with authority.

He's more versatile to Kobe. In part, it's unfair because Kobe is getting up there in age. He's not expected to do a lot of the dirty work that he used to do. In part, he also doesn't have Lebron's body. Lebron is just an all-around player that Kobe isn't. It's not a knock on Kobe but Lebron IS the best player in the NBA.
