There's plenty of 2nd and 3rd tier stars in the hall of fame. I always point to someone like Joe Dumars, who was a very good player, but hardly a franchise talent. Since he's in , I don't see why Rodman is any less worthy. Multiple rebounding crowns, defensive player of the year, prominent member of 5 title teams( especially 3 with Chicago). I suspect as Rodman is considered a 'defensive' specialist with limited offensive ability, that this somehow means he's unworthy. But then, I've seen tons of guys in the NBA who can chuck their way to 20 points a game and produce great hollow stats, without doing a damn thing of significance. Dennis Rodman was a winner, and his defense and rebounding were invaluable to both the Pistons and the Bulls.

I will reiterate....If you are the GM of the Heat right now...whom do you take? Rodman, IVerson or Allen?

Easily Rodman, based on the current makeup of the Heat team.

It's a shame because Wang had such potential until he injured himself in that interleague game. That prediction definitely became a flop. LBJ is getting what he deserved now for lying to the Knicks. He has a good team but one that I think wont win a championship because they don't mesh well.

I agree with your wang comments.

Huh? The Heat have had one of the top records in the league after their first 20ish game adjustment period. They mesh fine, they just have holes that they will fill easily in the off-season.

Don't be bitter because the Knicks got sloppy 2nds and 3rds in free agency because the Dolans are morons that still actively keep their hands involved in the team....something you told me wasn't going to keep happening.

Lebron avoiding the Knicks was like a drunk sailor figuring out the gal soliciting him was a tranny. Get used to it, it is the DOLANS.

The eastern conference is far easier than the western so it was a no brainer for him even though his main choices were the Knicks, Chicago, Heat, Cavs. The Heat do not mesh well but because of the much easier conference they get by. I saw him going to the Knicks but once again, I am not a Knick fan but I do wish them well. I am a Warriors fan win or lose but yes...the Dolans are morons. Well whether the Knicks add a Dwight Howard or CP3, or someone else of this caliber, they will be a contending team for quite some time very shortly.

Q: Contending for what?
A: 2nd, maybe 3rd round elimination for years to come.

They built Pheonix-east...meaning no D. They have a crappy coach and basically right now are a mediocre NBA team.

They can add CP and still won't get to the finals and they are running out of cap room fast.

Just like the makeup of alot of other teams, if the Knicks add a 3rd star they will be in contention for the finals but the cheap role players really make the difference. In the next year or so Boston will drop off and Orlando will probably disband so the Knicks, Chicago, and Heat might be the 3 going for it for a few years. By the way, look at the San Francisco Giants last year. They were definitely not the best team, but once the playoffs came around they stepped it up. The point is that once the playoffs start, all teams are equal and a hot team can go further than expected.

I agree that post seasons have an element of a crap shoot in them, however I think the NBA does the "best" job of crowning the appropiate champ. Its harder for a hot team to beat a team thats much more talented in the NBA where as in the MLB, it happens damn near every year lately.
