It's going to come down to a few key games.

If K-state and WV make the final four. I think I might end up pretty decent. Big if though.

I should have called my bracket "toxic to anyone who copies"

I don't like the fact that I am far out in front as far as total games but could still lose our group tournament. Not sour grapes - just don't like the point system - the final game counts as much as a perfect score in the first round.

I made a point system a while ago that is weighted, but more fair. I will put our bracket under my scoring system and will post the results - and you can tell me what you think. It's a 200 point system.

As it should. Picking the champ is a pretty big deal. I thought every round was worth the same amount of points. Edit, they are. I've never even heard of scoring it any other way.

If you don't like the point system, don't fill out a bracket. They all score the same.

FWIW, it does sound like sour grapes.

I am not losing on money on this - it's really a personal preference. I knew the scoring system when I signed up. I just don't think the finals should be weighted THAT much. One team is responsible for 29% of the total bracket (63 of 192 points). The two finals teams are worth 49% of the total bracket (94 of 192 points).

My system - the champion team is responsible for 20% of the bracket (39 of 200 pts.) and both finals teams 31% (62 of 200 pts.). So more of the entire bracket comes into play.

Anyway - now that WV has exited stage left - I believe Canes can win with a Duke win on Monday. Either way - it's just my opinion and I'm OK with it.

I disagree with your objection to the scoring.

I look at the brackets the opposite of many people.

Picking the correct champ should be the ultimate objective.( and by far the most points)

Filling out the entire bracket should only show how you thought it would play out ( and be worth less points )

IMHO-----no one should ever be able to win a bracket contest if they can't even get the winner correct ( unless the contest is so small that no one picked the winner )

The ultimate objective of a bracket contest should be to pick the ultimate winner of the championship game.

These views are posted by someone who picked Kansas and tossed his bracket when they lost.
I knew I was done for, and rightly so.

It's 32 (or 320) max points per round. They all score the same way.

Your personal preference does not exist in any Tourney pick'em. jes sayin.

Thanks for playing DRob!! I hope you win it!!

Screw that "not so awesome" bracket!

Total number correct up to date - Total 63 games

40 - D Rob
34 - Marmac, Nevergoingback, Aarvarks, Canes/Awesome
33 - Calico, M4ff3w, Twista
32 - Kublai
31 - Orangeish, Toxic

Yahoo System (1st - 1, 2nd - 2, Sweet 16 - 4, Elite 8 - 8, Final Four - 16, Champ - 32) - Total 192 pts.

69 - D Rob
68 - Canes/Awesome
63 - Marmac
60 - Nevergoingback, Aarvarks
57 - Calico
54 - Orangeish
52 - M4ff3w
50 - Kublai, Twista
42 - Toxic

My system (1st - 2, 2nd - 3, Sweet 16 - 4, Elite 8 - 6, Final Four - 8, Champ - 16) - Total 200 pts.

102 - D Rob
89 - Marmac
88 - Canes/Awesome
87 - Nevergoingback, Aarvarks
85 - Calico
81 - M4ff3w
80 - Twista
79 - Kublai, Orangeish
72 - Toxic

Please note in my system - Canes would still win if Duke wins (88+ 16 = 104) even though the scoring would be closer. Being that I would have 5 more correct picks and he would still win shows the system is still weighted - you just have to get more of the entire bracket correct to win.

No one should ever have a breath of a chance to win a bracket contest if they picked the championship winner wrong.

If there is a contest where it ever would be possible to pick the wrong winner and win the contest over a person who picked the correct winner-----count me out.
