They were in full control of the game in the 3rd and was up 13 and I was not expecting the Lakers to come back. I actually turned the game off because I was convinced the Celtics were not giving up a 13 point lead in the 2nd half of the NBA finals in a Game 7.

I was also surprised how the Celtic lead was slowly whittled away by the Lakers. Celtics will review the tape to see where some critical mistakes were made in the 4th quarter. Laker's played horrible offense but managed to pull it all together when it counts by winning!

The Celtics ran out of gas.

They had this game in the bag and simply ran out of gas in the 4th Q.

They did not run the floor and was standing around. Watching them all walk up the floor like they did in the 4th I knew they were in trouble because you cannot function in a big game being tired.

Jackson was a master at subbing players in and out seeing the Celtics top players getting tired while Rivers did not sub when needed to get his top players a needed rest.

Gasol and Artest stepped up.

Not being a Laker fan they won on having the gas they needed to take it to the very end.

Ray Allen having only one big game really cost the Celtics. His poor shooting performance hurt them badly. If he had played better this would have been over in game 6.

There was near total exhaustion on both teams but it was wise for Jackson to put into the bench as often as he could. Kobe said he was bone tired and really at his worst during much of the game. It really did come down to what team would gut it out the most & the Lakers stepped up when it looked over for them in the 3rd quarter. Remarkable comeback of willpower.

That was painful... I mean I can honestly say Boston was better for 40 of the 48 minutes. That's just the way it goes sometimes. I think their biggest mistake was not feeding the post more in the 2nd half, Bynum wasn't playing at all. Have Rasheed on one block, KG on the other and pound that ball inside. Instead, they went to relying on jumper after jumper. And for god sakes, Ray Allen?! My grandma could have hit some of the open shots you had tonight. Something tells me he buckled under the pressure to perform up to the standard of Game 2, because he flat out stunk ever since that game.

Between this, the Bruins and the Patriots' last SB apperance, Boston has established itself as the sports choking capital of the world.
Pretty bad when the Red Sox and their notorious history are your present day silver lining

The celtics have nobody to blame but themselves. I dont care for b-ball (esp the lakers) but i was hoping for a boston win.
