I am relocating to Baton Rouge for a job transfer. I have been looking at areas such as Walker, Denham Springs, Central, and Zachary. I am a single mom with two small children so I am trying to get information regarding the safest area as well as best childcare and schools. Any information to help me out would be appreciated. I will be moving the beginning of December.

Zachary and Central have limited rental properties . I don't know about Walker and Denham in that respect , but I do know that the traffic / commute is horrible in and out of Livingston Parish .

Walker & Denham has limited rental properties as well. You can try www.livingstonparishnews.com and www.2theadvocate.com to search. Also www.hotonrent.com has a few properties. There is another one I will post when I locate it. Like mhounit said, traffic in and out of Livingston Parish is tough. I live here though and just deal with it. We have good schools too. Good luck with your search.
