Anyone notice gas prices lately? Good public transportation is going to become a necessity. The "happy motoring" age is in it's twilight era.

I sure hope the He.. they have if there driving.lol . I agree GOOD public transportation is becoming more of a necessity.IMO Baton Rouge is so Sprawled out that it faces more of a challange than say a city like NY.We are accustom to self tranportation and everybody that can afford it has at least one AUTO, and to get us out of that habit is going to be as hard as trying to Dissarm us. IMO it will take another 20-35 years before it gets so crowed around here that PT will be a good working program, maybe longer . As bad as we need it and as bad as I would like to see it ,will it EVER be a reallity?

If downtown and mid-city populate then I would say yes. And there's many areas that seem like they could benefit from a bus stop or two.

ALIVE was an attraction that was to be built on the river about Louisiana's river life and aquatics. It was expected to bring lots more people to the city.

Expectations versus reality . The reality of it was that it would have turned out to be another burden on the taxpayers . I would wager that the majority of the people that voted for it were from Kip's " base " , and most of them pay little to no taxes anyway , and will vote for anything their " handlers " tell them to .
