Default moving to BR - HELP!

Need help finding a good kid friendly subdivision in Baton Rouge.
My husband and I will be relocating from New Orleans to Baton Rouge - he will be working off of Bluebonnet/Essen and we are looking for neighborhoods in the area. Any suggestions of a safe and kid friendly (we have a two yr old) neighborhood? Should we look at Prairieville?

Thanks!!

There are so many nice and safe areas in Baton Rouge! Woodridge is nothing but families with kids-great place. I also heard Shenendoah is nice. There is also some nice newer neighborhoods all over town. Willow Ridge is one of them. I love it here!! There are probably more things for kids to do here then any other place I have lived. Good Luck!

There is a really nice brick home on Highway 44, close to Hwy 42 for rent in Prairieville. I can get the number for you if you want to call about it.

If you will email me your email address, my husband and I (full-time Realtors in the Baton Rouge and surrounding areas) will be glad to send you a detailed list of homes for sale in the safe, kid-friendly neighborhoods. t.rushing@att.net

A convenient party of the city. Lots of good neighborhoods in that area. Hook up with a realtor and take a look. Prairieville, or anywhere in Ascension Parish means a commute. Traffic can be a pain.

Default Try Ascension!

Ascension Parish has wonderful schools including Dutchtown High which is about 5-6 years old. Because of the schools, new subdivions are everywhere and elementary schools and daycare centers are plentiful. The Dutchtown/Geismar/Duplessis/Prarieville area is a mere 15-20 minute drive from the Mall of Louisiana (on Bluebonnet) in Baton Rouge and about 60 minutes from New Orleans. Traffic is terrible but life is good here!

Default Baton Rouge

What is wrong with living in Baton Rouge? I love it here and I do not care what anyone says, there are lovely old and newer homes and the people in BR are the friendliest I have ever met. It is also affordable. The downside, you have to send children to private schools in BR. I like Prarieville and all, but traffic in BR is not nearly as bad. Most of the people who make the traffic actually live in the outlying parishes! I feel very safe here as well.
