Default New Grad taking job in Baton Rouge

Hello all,
I am graduating in May and will probably be accepting a job offer in Baton Rouge. BR wasn't my first choice of cities, but I think I'm willing to try to make it work. I am mainly wondering if some people can suggest some areas/places to live. My job would be located on Industriplex Blvd (zip 70809), and I'd like to have no more than a 15 minute commute if possible. I'd like to be somewhere relatively quiet and easy-going (I'm trying to move on from the college lifestyle), and obviously a low crime area is a plus. I do alot of road and mountain biking, so proximity to areas with trails and uncrowded roads is also a plus. I'd love to find a small house to rent but a decent apartment/town house/whatever would be OK too. My budget isn't extremely limited, so feel free to suggest anything except the really high-end place. I'm mainly trying to get a good idea of the areas I should focus my search in. Thank you for any suggestions and comments!

I was in the same boat as you. I just got here in March. Try looking between College and Essen along Jefferson Hwy if you want a short commute. You'll want to avoid the interstates and any street that is an on/off ramp to the interstates. Traffic is kinda bad everywhere, so the closer you live to your job, the better obviously.
