Default How to look for apartment near to LSU?

Greetings...I have lurked in this forum for some time to know more about BR. Will relocate from Chicago north suburb to BR, feeling both excited and nervous...

Wonder anyone here could offer some information about apartment hunting near to LSU.

I am looking for one-bedroom apartment near to LSU campus, if possible, within 2 miles away. The rent I could afford is up to $1200/month. Heard south to the campus is safe. Any recommendation about area, website or agent for looking for apartment? Safety and being close to the campus are the most important in the consideration..

Thanks a bunch,
April

I am still looking for a place near LSU myself, but I find there are a lot of places on craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, events, forums. As for the area, I would recommend the south of campus over the north of campus. I am sure you will be able to find a good place.

I don't think we're supposed to list agents in the forum so I sent you a pm with the lady we used to find a house. We're moving to Baton Rouge next week!

Kimalso--
Could you pm me with the name of the lady as well? I'm relocating to Baton Rouge as well and am having trouble finding places in my desired area/price range. Thanks!

Default Apartments convenient to LSU

: campus apartments : (broken link)

I lived at the Venue for 4 years until I graduated. I walked to class everyday. Longest walk to any class would be about 15 minutes. Campus Crossing at Highland is also walkable to class as it is literally across the street from the Venue. Brightside is about a 5-10 minute drive to campus depending on traffic. These apartments are a little more expensive than some others but you also receive a ton of amenities. They should be well within your price range.

Although both Highland and the Venue are on the North side of campus they are both very safe, well lit with security. I never had an issue in all four years not to mention both apartments have garage parking.
