Default Junk / thrift stores

I'm trying to find good junk stores in baton rouge. Somewhere I can get old stuff people write off as junk. Not nice expensive antiques, maybe things that need a little work. I'm aware of one flea market on airline. I think I'm looking for the type of place that isn't listed in the yellow pages. Thanks...

I remember one hole in the wall place I visited for other purposes in Livingston. It was the same building as the Miller-Doyle vehicle inspection station in Livingston. He had a bunch of interesting junk that he would somewhat refurbish or clean up and sell. I don't have a number though. If you take the Livingston exit, head left towards the town and turn left at the light at US 190. It wasn't very far at all on the left. I'm assuming he's still an inspection station and that he's still in that building selling stuff. It's been a few years now.

Favaro's (with a "unique and unusual" shop inside) on Weller Ave. in North Baton Rouge is full of knick-knacks and paddywacks and all sorts of collectibles or what have you. Sounds like your sort of place? Anyway, while you're over here, I might recommend going to Tony's Seafood. Other than that, I'd steer clear of the other streets... stick to the interstate and Plank Rd. I know the owner of Favaro's and he's a good guy - he'll bargain with you for just about anything you're interested in buying. No worries about safety at their place either, it's across the street from a bank with a cop usually on duty! A welcome change for this part of town...
