Default Park Place condos

We are looking to move back to the BR area after being away since the mid 90's. Does anyone know how the surrounding area of the Park Place condos [1290 Park ave) are? Some of those streets "used" to be pretty bad areas when we lived here, has it changed there? Thanks

I think east of Park Blvd is very nice. West of Park Blvd for about two blocks is marginal. After that, it gets pretty bad. Park itself isn't that bad at all. The Park Place Condos I think have been renovated from what I've heard. Don't know from experience though.

I just recently visited Park Place (I used to live in them when I was in college), and they have made a 180! They look absolutely fabulous! Not only did the contractor do a lot of work to the interior (ceramic tile/wood floors, granite countertops, stainless steel appliences, and stackable washer/dryers!), but the exterior looks amazing as well. The pool was re-done and they spent a lot of money on the exterior with landscaping. I had no idea that place could look so nice! I was extremely impressed.

My husband and I are actually thinking about purchasing a two bedroom unit. Not only is it a great place to live, but it will also serve as a great investment when we decide to move. Everything close LSU's campus goes up up up!!

The last I have heard, the area around Park Place has really turned itself around. Supposedly, the area is not bad anymore. Also-- the girl who gave me a tour at Park Place told me that they have quite a few security cameras to keep things safe.

Well-- I hope this helped!

I visited these for the first time the other day and I was impressed with the units. I like all the floors a lot. Granite and Travertine have become the standard. I like the cabinets too. The washer and dryer behind them is great. Had someone with me would have liked to investigate quality on my own more. Cant speak for that but it was very pleasing to the eye.
