Wedding Reception Sites (Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, Livingston: living, budget, backyard)

Hi there!

I'm still kinda new to Baton Rouge and am getting married in December of this year. I wanted to know if anyone has any ideas about a wedding reception site. We were looking to do a crawfish boil/cookout and wanted to keep it informal. We have many family and friends coming in from out of town and wanted to give them a taste of Louisiana.

My problem is I don't have much of a backyard and a small budget. Any ideas on public parks or other locations to have this kind of venue?

North Park in Livingston Parish is a nice place. I believe it is listed under PARDS in Denham Springs.

I've seen things done at the park by the BRZoo. You are going to have a hard time finding live crawfish in December (if you can find them at all) so you may want to consider a cook out instead.
