Default Passing through

Hello,
We will be passing through your state on our way out west in early December. We need to know your opinions on Airline Hwy and Gwenadele Ave. area. Is this a safe area or crime-ridden? This is right off I-12 west towards Baton Rouge Country Club.
Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The area is fine but the hotels there are filthy. Port Allen is the same way so don't go over there.
Downtown, College Drive/Constitution area, I-10 at Bluebonnet or most at Siegen aren't too bad.
Acadian Thruway, the LaQuinta there actually wasn't that bad. Not sure about that new Lion hotel thing they put up there.
But College Drive is probably the best. Probably more expensive too.
You could also stay in Denham if you choose.

One more, on Bluebonnet, Off I-10 close to the mall of Lousisiana there are some nice clean places that have decent rates if you reserve online. Getting from I-12 to I-10 is that far distance wise, just don't hit the crossover at rush time.
