Default Spain St and crime

Hello all,
I'll be moving to Baton Rouge soon and saw a house in a neighborhood that doesn't seem to have a lot written about it. Can anyone tell me about Spain St. in EBR. What is the neighborhood like? Is there a lot of crime over there? Far from restaurants and entertainment?

Thanks

Depends on which section of Spain Street. The part between I-110 and the Miss River (in Beauregard Town) is so so crime wise, although younger people have been moving there recently. Outside (i.e., to the east) of I-110, Spain Street is in less desiable neighborhoods.

Not much retail/restaurants, although near Beauregard Town they've developed a good variety of restaurants/bars along 3rd Street between Main Street and North Blvd.

Of course, it all depends on where you are planning to work - you can PM me if you like and I give you more scoop on where in BR to live/not to live.
