blue bayou and competition
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Does any one know if there is supposed to be another Water park in the works? My friend heard a rumor that Livingston Parish is getting one some time in the near future. I love Blue Bayou, but last year there were-umm-too many ghetto type people there with their obnoxious families that I may not get passes again this year. It is supposed to be a family water park with no baggy pants etc, but I felt like we were in a ghetto last year! Anyone have any real information???

blue bayou!
The water and the slides are great. I feel it is clean, but the people, my oh my, it was like being in the worst part of town. Betweeen the 15 or more in one family being rude and obnoxious, and the crowds(which were not bad 2 years ago by the way) I really do not think I like it there anymore!

money
It is around 65.00 per person to have a season pass. I think daily it is around 30 something to get in. The problem began when the owner of Blue Bayou started doing a "buy one day get the second day free". Then, the ghetto type people found out and the rest is history! By the way, BRMan, do you have any informtion about the area around the new Womans's Hospital? I have heard thru the grapevine that that area is going to be full of fun restaurants and stuff-any rumors you have heard?

All I know is there are discussions with mixing retail and professional with the new hospital campus. And that there's all kinds of realignment work of Pecue Lane/Stumberg that will take place.
Only thing about the retail center is that we're kind of saturated now, with Perkins Rowe, Town Centre, the area around the Mall of La, and the soon to be built Rouzan.....

What is being proposed in LP (and I don't think it's a definite yet) will not be a big waterpark, but more of a spray/play area like Jambalaya Park in Gonzales.
And we won't go to BB anymore either. That place is dirty, EXTREMELY crowded, and full of a*holes. My daughter developed these weird rashes everytime we went there and since we stopped going they never came back.
I contacted them about the issue asking if it might be a water issue but of course they said no way.

I agree. Why do you think it has changed? We went there in 2005 and the place was awesome and then 3 years later, the place is full of jerks, rude people and too many weirdos. My daughter is 6 and is begging to getseason tix again this year, but I don't know yet. It was just such a nice almost local kind of place and now it seemd the whole world goes there from all over the south! And the results are not good. The owner of the park comes to LSU Vet School with his cats, but I have yet to ask him if he has gotten complaints too about the water, overcrowding etc!
