The thing, too, about our traffic is that development is done without consideration of traffic flow. As in, they'll build subdivisions/retgail establishments with traffic that ONLY empties out onto the traffic arteries. You don't have a grid beause the NIMBYs are powerful.

Another thing that makes the traffic kind of nasty is that very few lights are synchronized. Which creates unnecessary localized traffic jams.

I have to disagree with the previous post saying downtoewn is no good. The Downtown Development group is making tremendous improvements in the downtown area and it is getting very popular wuth a lot of people. They are curently in the process of building high rise condos ans a new parking garage. The waterfront is also getting a play area for children and a park on the water. I think downtown is a happening place!

Default Moving to Baton Rouge

Hello everyone,
I'm moving to BR summer of 2009. I plan to work on the east side of BR so I will live on that side also. I have a family school age children one that has ADD, 2 of them are in elementary school and the other in middle school could someone suggest 2 schools in that area that have great programs and that would benefit the children. Also a good community for a rental home and within a short time for me to purchase a home, I need time to look when I get into the area. Summer programs?
