Goodwood
My boyfriend and I found our townhome, Ocean Drive and Florida. I know Florida isn't great (at least we are south of it), but he said the neighborhoods behind us were beautiful. Any information on the Goodwood area? Restaurants, nightlife, parks...?

I would not recommend Ocean Drive either (is Summa out of the running now ?), being as close as it is to some nasty apartment comlpexes. Plus, you have abandoned buildings along that stretch of Florida, as the center of the retail universe is shifting south. Having said that......
Parks: Independence and Goodwood Parks are nearby
Restaurants: Lots of restaurants in Town Centre (Jefferson Hwy at Corporate). Plus, Thai Pepper (Fla at Ardenwood) is good. And you have some restaurants on Government right behind the BR Commmunity College near where Gov't intersects Jefferson.
Nightlife - well, there is Town Centre.

Goodwood is a nice area. I live very close by, and it is indeed beautiful.

Yep, we talked down our new landlord to very nice price for our townhome, it seems quiet and private (Summa apartment didn't work out). I understand the area north is not the best, but hopefully we can just keep south .

If I were you, I wouldn't want to be that close to Florida Blvd and/or Mall City. Just my humble advice

I guess just try it out and if you don't like it, you can always move. It's not like you'll own the place.

Exactly! I think you'll be fine. There are plenty of good people in that area, and rarely is there any sort of violent crime 'spillover' from Mall City. Your side of Florida is generally quiet.
