Very little shopping nearby. Some restaurants on 3rd Street.

The complex went down in the 80s and 90s. They've refurbished it some, but I'm not crazy about living in tha part of town. You're right across the interstate from some sketchy areas.

From what I can tell about how they redid the apartments, and from friends who live in Spanish Town, it's fine. I'm not worried about anything on the 'other side of the interstate'. Hell, most of the old houses right there on Spanish Town were demolished years ago. You have to go a quarter mile or more down the eastern side of Spanish Town before you even run into more residential (on the other side of the RR tracks to be precise), and that's still nothing compared to places in north BR. The area's fine.
The rent seemed competitive, higher but not expensive. So the tenants (as with any other middle income place) will likely be mixed.

Definitely worth a look. Like I always say, crime stays out of Spanish Town for the most part.

You won't get information like that in the Baton Rouge subforum. Create a new thread in the Louisiana forum and put Shreveport in the title. There are good people up there who can likely help.
