Hi Lisa,
I don't mind sharing at all. To be honest, the adjustment was very difficult…(and I’m a therapist!) I've been back for a little over a year, and I still have times when I feel down...especially if London is in the news or in a movie. London is such a beautifully diverse city with culture oozing everywhere you look...Baton Rouge will never be that. Fortunately I moved back at a time when things in this city really began to change. I think people’s frustrations with the lack of art finally came to a head, and a few brave people began working really hard to change things. For me it has helped to be really honest with myself when I am feeling down. I had to allow myself to say ‘ok. Right now I really wish I had never moved back.’ I have to give myself to right to jump into my pity place for a few minutes, but then I have to make sure I can’t stay there too long. I have to look for the good in Baton Rouge – the music, food, SUNSHINE, etc. It also helped that I have family here and friends here.
I'll check on admission requirements for U-High. I have a friend who teaches there

Most of East Baton Rouge Parish is under a school system that was bled dry by an arrogant federal judge who kept them under a busing order for years. But he's off the case, the school system is getting out from under the busing, and separate school districts within East Baton Rouge Parish (Baker, Zachary, Central) have sprung up.
Other than the school situation (and nasty traffic), Baton Rouge is a decent place to live.

Sorry for the late reply, his job situation is getting shifted so no telling where we will be. BR is still an option. Thanks for the input about getting back to the US after London. As an art teacher, the art in London has been a MAJOR highlight for me. I always hoped to see some of the Eupopean treasures but never in my wildest dreams assumed I would see eveything I have been able to see in London and Europe. Thanks again, and yes, the food and sunshine are definite POSITIVES!
