Default Bend Accomodations

I apologize if this topic has already been discussed in another thread. For some reason whenever I try to search the forums right now city-data logs me out, which is very frustrating.

So - we're headed to Bend at the end of next month. We are a family of four from Eugene, and we're looking for a clean, friendly, happy hotel type place to stay for about 4 days. It's OK if it's a chain, but we also like unique places. We wouldn't want to spend more than about $130'ish a night. We usually like a suite type of room where there is a separate bedroom, and sometimes a little kitchenette. A yurt or cabin would be fun. We're flexible. As long as we have clean beds, shower, and potty we can make the best of it.

Any suggestions?

Also - what shouldn't we miss while we're in-town? I'm open to foodie and fun and "pretty places" type suggestions. I like to take photos. Hubby likes antiquing and used books stores. We are planning on spending time in Sisters as well.

Thanks!

If you'll be here for four days, consider renting a self-catering cottage. A few are listed on Bend Visitor's Center site (below) others include Bend Vacation Bungalow and Lavabelles (though this one may be a little out of price range - they have several cottages and I don't know all the rates)

Bend Oregon Vacation Rentals, Cabins, Homes | Central Oregon

Another option is McMenamin's Old St Francis School which, in addition to rooms, has a couple of cottages. Note: McMenamin's can be noisy into the night in the hotel rooms. The Bend Riverside Motel & Suites has kitchenettes and is right on the Deschutes River, but when I toured the rooms a few years back, they seemed kind of dark & dank.

Tumalo State Park just west of Bend has yurts for rent but reservations go quickly http://www.oregonstateparks.org/imag...umalo_full.pdf

Thanks! Tumalo sounds fun... going to go see if they have any yurts available... they book up so fast I usually have to get them months in advance!

I'd also look for lodges and B&B's. Don't limit your search to just Bend, there are plenty of nice places in Redmond and Prineville.

I've stayed at the Marriott Towne Place in the SW of Bend. Nice place with bfast included. Original Joes is in the same lot so there are more bfast options. Walkwable down Colorado Ave to Old Mill as well.

Another vacation rental option is vbro.com

I've also stayed at the Ameritel (soon to be Hilton). It was pricier but the bfast was excellent and having the Old Mill just down a staircase was nice.
