IMO underneath the exaggerations and over simplifications these links often have is a really cool town that has uniquely appealing qualities that keep it on so many of these "best of " lists.
The PR team is incredible. You are buying the Bend is unique mantra "hook, line, and sinker!" Bend is on the "best of" lists because of the PR teams efforts.

Yes we do, look forward to using on one of the many lakes out there.

If, as you say, "I can get nice daytime off work" ? Which is an unknown on my end since I have no idea what type employment I will find or get into.

This article was written two years ago, so I think some of the info is a little off for today. Especially in terms of real estate. It says you can get properties for half their price in 2008. Unfortunately, that's not the case anymore. I was one of the lucky ones though that managed that. Very thankful circumstances were in my favor when buying.

Great photos in the article though and definitely a good piece of publicity, overall.

Sorry I did not check the date.

Visit Bend posted on there FB page and NO DOUBT they are a PR machine!

Wondered about the housing price thing too when I read the article, agree the photos are nice.

FYI : Under severe storm and flood watches here in VA, if this rain is as much as forecast we will be well over 6" of rain just in the past 30 days ... Oh yeah I am so ready to be out of here!

It must be working, because comparing this week to last, the traffic multiplied like rabbits, and a lot of cars have out of state plates.

I noticed the same thing. Ugh...Bend is quickly turning into something "other than Bend" as many of us have known it.

Lot of people in town for the PPP, plus there could be people here for an early Memorial Day week.
